Abstract

This research is conducted to see the extent of Critical Thinking Skills acquisition among Islamic Education students. Aspects that were researched into consists of two main categories which are The Skill Of Making inferences and the sub-category which is the focus of this research is The Ski11 Of Making Explicit Conclusion. The next main category is The Skill Of Collecting And Using Information and the sub-category which is the focus of this research is The Ski11 Of Determining The Muslim Decree. The sample consists of 30 Arts and Sciences stream students who were randomly chosen from a school in the Sabak Bernam district. The research used the survey method in the form of test questions that lead towards the Critical Thinking Skill that is The Skill Of Making Explicit Conclusion and The Skill Of Determining The Muslim Decree. The data gained was analyzed using frequency and mean. Apart from that the t-test was used to evaluate the level of significance between the variables involved. Research findings show that the mean score for the acquisition of 1be Skill Of Making Explicit Conclusion is (mean=S.733) while the mean score for the acquisition of The Skill Of Determining The Muslim Decree is (mean=6.500). The research outcomes also show that there is no differences between the male and female students in the acquisition of The Skill Of Making Explicit Conclusion and The Skill Of Determining The Muslim Decree. Besides that this research revealed that there is no differences between the Art and Science stream students in the acquisition of The Skill Of Making Explicit Conclusion and The Skill of Determining The Muslim Decree. However, research shows that students who had parents with high income displayed better acquisition in The Skill Of Determining The Muslim Decree among Islamic Education students that is (t = 0.492, p< 0.05).
