Abstract
As a chosen language for language of revelation, Arabic language has its own distinctive features that are not found in other languages Among them include the method of connecting and separating between two verses or more or particularly called in Arabic as AI-Fasl and AI-WasI. This study concerns rhetoric in Arabic which involves ilmu al-ma'ani that forms one of three areas of Arabic rhetoric. When must connecting of verses be necessary and when must they be separated? Furthermore, why is the method of connecting between verses in this topic involves only one huruf'ataf that is AI-Wasl and not other hurufs. Through this study, the writer explains the definitions of Al-Fasl and Al-Wasl, the studies of scholars regarding their use in the past and present, basic foundations that help in understanding this topic of study and other matters. Besides, the writer also explains the contextual meanings of the verses in Arabic language that are divided into two and other sentences that are categorized as sentence of hal in Arabic language.
