Abstract
Drug has been recognized as the main social problem and being regarded as the nation first enemy. The phenomenon of drug abuse and addiction has become . more serious and it involves all levels of race and age. Thus, this dissertation is triggered to look into the problem of drug abuse among teenagers mainly in Selangor. The problem has been related to the teenager development and self improvement besides other affecting factors such as the influence of friends and family. On the other hand, the dissertation also tries to analyse the effectiveness of the programs held both by the government and the private sector in the respective rehabilitation centres. Discussion was also being made base on the Islamic perspectives and "fatwa". The findings show that despite all the rehabilitation and prevention programs being held by the authorities, the number of drug addicts is still increasing from time to time. Nevertheless, all the rehabilitation centres are committedly putting their efforts to confront and handle the problem.
