Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the attitude of Forro IV students towards the subject of Islamic Education . The attitude measured was based on the following statements : you frequently study the subject at home ; you prefer the class to end quickly ; you wait eagerly for the class to start ; you study other subject instead during the lesson and you prefer studying other subject rather than Islamic Education. The study also examined the relationship of the students' attitude with selected independent variables. which were gender, class streaming, Islamic Education performance during the final exam and students' perception towards the teaching of the subject. The sample of the study were 60 Forro IV students' from two secondary schools in the district of Sabal< Bernam, Selangor DE. The study used the survey technique. The research instrument used was a set of questionnaires which consists 2 parts. Part A consisted of the samples' personal information and part B consists questions for gathering information regarding the students attitude towards Islamic Education. The findings show that generally the students' attitude towards the subject of lslamic education is positive. However, research findings also revealed that Islamic Education is not the most well4 liked subject because on1y 5.0 % of the students stated that Islamic Education is their favourite subject. Research outcomes also found that in several aspects of attitude there is a significant relationship between students attitude towards the Islamic Education subject with the four independent variables that were chosen.
