Abstract
This study aims at finding out the close relationship of phonological aspects in the formation of Arabic words through the i„la:l and ibda:l processes. The changes that Arabic words went through while they were being formed were also studied in a great depth. This was done in order to solve any problem which might occur during the changing process that the words went through. The right conceptual framework for the changes was also determined so that it became as a guideline for those who study Arabic. Through this study, the researcher has found out a guideline for all Arabic users to know the processes of i„la:l and ibda:l from the phonological point of view. However, scientifically, without the combination of linguistics components especially phonetics and morphology, the formation of words cannot be exactly determined. In a nutsheel, the researcher discovered that i„la:l can be divided into three parts which are the change of i„la:l letters, the dropping of „illat letters and the swift of baris huruf „illat to huruf sahi:h yang berbaris mati. Meanwhile, as for ibda:l, „illat letters were changed to hamzat letters and vice versa, „illat letters being substituted with other „illat letters and sahi:h letters being replaced with other sahi:h letters. The main factor of the change is due to enlighten the pronunciation and to determine the relevant makhraj of letters in pronouncing a word. Thus, this study is significant in assisting us to master the Arabic language effectively.
