Abstract
This research is to unveil the question of dream which is on the agenda of discussion and a popular issue among the public at large. It is a common experience to each and every human being throughout the world in accordance to their existence on earth. This dissertation aims to escertain the extent of peoples’ belief about dream they experienced. Apart from that, the research has the objective of viewing and identifying how far the influence of dream in the livelihood of the public at all level, the status and position which ultimately creating social polemic particularly the belief of Muslim community. The writing is divided into four main chapters which can be aim be simplified as follows. Chapter one is a synopsis of title in discussion including introduction to dream as well as its development traditionally and during this modern world. This discussion is vital as it is interrelated with the concept of dream through Islamic perspective which is under study. Chapter two consists of the debate on the meaning of dream according to linguistic and terminology, similarities and differences from the viewpoint of different schools of thought to every individual. Chapter three explains the issue of dream based on al-Qur’ān, al- Sunnah from all angle connected to mystical world, types of dream, method and its relations to Islamic law, conflicting views of scholars, validity and reliability as devine revelation sources, glad tidings or a matter of normal sleeping experience. This chapter is concluded with expositions of dream. Chapter four and the final part elaborated on the important information available during the research, suggestions and opinion pertaining to dream by the public especially the Muslims, the expectation of the writer and dream’s conclusion from Islamic point of view.
