Abstract

This research is done to study, analyse and explain one important aspect of the Arabic Language, which is the Glorifying and Reprimanding Language Style. In this research the writer chooses all the glorifying and reprimanding verses in the Holy al- Quran. There are two types of glorifying and reprimanding language style in the al- Quran, the written and the unwritten. The written type of glorifying and reprimanding is syntax studies while the unwritten type is semantic. The focus of this research is only on the written type. Therefore, it is done based on the Arabic Language syntax. This research divides the analysis of the Glorifying and Reprimanding Language Style in the Al- Quran into two perspectives. They are the Glorifying and Reprimanding Language Style in the Al-Quran in the form of ni‘ma and bi’sa verb and also the Glorifying and Reprimanding Language Style in the Al-Quran in the form of thula:thiyy verb. Ninety two al-Quran verses were studied and analysed by the writer for this research. The writer found a few thula:thiyy verbs which are similar to the verbs of glorifying and reprimanding but do not actually meant to glorify or reprimand. This subject is mentioned in the analysis of the glorifying and reprimanding language style in the al-Quran in the form of thula:thiyy verbs. The scope of this research is only on the analysis of the glorifying and reprimanding language sentences which are found in the Holy al-Quran. It is found that the most frequently praised subject in the Holy al-Quran is Allah SWT and His heaven. Whereas, hell is the most condemned subject.
