Abstract

Apart from his novels, poems, critiques and essays, he was also known for his many excellent dramas, where he showed his talent in character portrayal. Most notably, he succeeded in creating vivid male and female roles with unique individual traits. The focus of this research is the various female characters in Lao She's modem dramas.
