This research was carried out using the error analysis approach. The subjects are 30 Remove Class Chinese students. The data were collected from 60 essays and a test which comprised of 25 multiple choice questions and 5 translation questions. The errors in the essays were classified into 4 types. These were errors or selection. misordering, omission and addition. From the data gathered, it was found that most of the subject had not mastered in the use of Malay personal pronouns. There were 110 errors found in the essays. The score achieved in the test was between 34% and 77%.
