Abstract

The purpose of this research is to look upon career interest using Self Directed search Form Easy among a group of Form Four Student. The samples in this research are student from a Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA). There are about one hundred and twenty three students being the research respondent which comprise of 56 males and 67 females; 52 students from Science ream and 67 from Humanistic Stream: 24 were from high academic achievers, 76 ere from medium academic achiever and 23 were from low academic achievers. Using is SDS-E instrument, student are categorized into six poles career interest. Besides, difference in career interest among boys and girls, from science and humanistic stream student from higher, medium and low achiever are also being observed. Descriptive statistic and inferential statistic, using Cross Tabulation method was used to analyse the data. The result shows that overall student have high inclination on social aspect and students also shows high interest in Conventional aspect. However, the finding indicates that student has low interest in artistic, investigative and enterprising. The results also shows significant difference (s) at 0.5 level on career interest between: males and females; science and humanistic stream student and students of three levels in academic achievement. In conclusion, result indicates that SOS - E would help student identify their individual career inclination and such findings would then become the basis for further investigation and exploration regarding career choice.
