Abstract
The researcher chose this title because, she aims is to get as much as possible facts and figures about information and news gathered and written by the local and foreign news agencies on economic and political issues in Malaysia. This analysis of information and news contents reported by both local and foreign news agencies based in Malaysia focused on National Budget for the year 2000, which was presented in the Parliament on October 29, 1999, the dissolvement of Parliament on November 10, 1999, followed by the general election which was held on November 29, 1999 and also the dismissal of former Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. For local information and news, the researcher took samples from national news agency BERNAMA (Berita Nasional Malaysia) and daily /Jerila Harian, published by Berita Harian Sdn Bhd, a company within The New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad (NSTP) Group. While for foreign sources. samples were taken by researcher from Reuters and Agence France Presse (AFP), the two leading premier news agency in the world.
