Abstract
The 1986 Budget strategy, as outlined by the Finance Minister in his speech in the Dewan Rakyat, is two-fold, namely, to strengthen the country's balance of payments position and ;the government accounts through restraints on public sector expenditure and to revitalize and stimulate private sector investment. It is proposed to highlight in this paper only the more topical aspects of the 1986 budget proposals under the following subheadings. This paper does not address itself to any contentious points in the Finance (No.2) Bill 1985 which seeks to implement: the various propose is outline in the 1986 Budget. This is left to the question end answer session.
