Abstract

These days during the COVID-19 pandemic all the educational systems continue their work using online platforms. Students were happy regarding this system as they could stay at home and do their learning using a laptop or their smart phone. These changes seemed good, but there are some disadvantages including the using to excess of social networks, reduced physical activity and isolation from society. This overuse could result in internet addiction, which can be associated with psychological side effects such as various types of social pain. This paper was conducted with the aim of trying to explore the recent data regarding internet addiction. Scopus, PubMed and Google Scholar databases were used. The findings showed a direct relationship between internet addiction and social pain among students. Accurate education seems necessary for parents and their children to avoid this problem. © Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
