Abstract

In the crystal structure of the title salt, [Ni(C3H3O4)-(C16H36N4)]ClO4 center dot CH3CN, the macrocycle folds around the Ni-II atom, which is also chelated by the carboxylate monoanion. The geometry is a distorted NiN4O2 octahedron. The formula units are connected by N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds into centrosymmetric dimers. Further N-H center dot center dot center dot O and O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds link the complex molecules and the perchlorate ions.
