Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see certain aspects in the management of a schools' finances specially in SRJK (T) and SRJK (C) in Gombak District. The aspects of this research include what are the main sources of income for SRJK (T) and SRJK(C), whether from government sources or other sources, how this money is spent, what are the problems faced by principals of these schools and proposals to enhance the sources of income. Research findings show that monetary sources for these two schools do not show a vast difference. Nevertheless, a difference can be noted in the total allocation received, not only from government sources but also from other sources credited into the Wang SUWA akaun. This difference is seen because the size of these two schools are extremely different. Noting that SRJK (T) is much smaller in terms of student population it automatically a much smaller allocation. In comparison. SRJK ( C ) has a large student population and receives a larger allocation in tandem with the number of students. Furthermore, SRJK ( C ) also gets monetary income from the rental of canteens which are much bigger than SRJK (T). Once again this can be linked to the size of school which is much bigger. Research also shows the allocation from the government and income from Wang SUW A is not enough for school expenditures. Other than that, both schools manage the school fund in accordance with procedure set by the ministry of education and the state education department in dealing with receivables and collection.
