Abstract
This study examines the training teachers’ acquisition level of reading Arabic text. In this study, the acquisitional level is obtained based on two categories; the level of thinking while reading Arabic text and the level of comprehension of the reading text. It also analyses the correlation between the level of these two categories. Data is collected from 135 training teachers in two programmes; PPISMP and PISMP (IPGM), majoring Arabic Language and Islamic Studies in IPG Kampus Pendidikan Islam, Bangi. The instrument used to measure the thinking level is questionnaire, while the level of comprehension is collected from results they obtained when they doing comprehension. The overall finding shows that half of them at the average level when reading Arabic texts. They also at average level in thinking and comprehension level. The finding also indicates that there is no significant correlation between these two levels.
